Banjo Bannon
Terence ‘Banjo’ Bannon doesn’t do things by halves. Born in Newry, he’s been a survivor from day one—literally entering the world with a fight on his hands. Growing up during the Troubles, he learned early on that life can be tough, and he found his reset button in the mountains.
Banjo isn’t just a hiker; he’s one of the few who’s stood on top of the world. In 2003, he became the second person from Northern Ireland to summit Mount Everest, taking on the brutal North Face without any help.
But the mountains aren't always kind. Banjo has seen the highest highs and the lowest lows, losing nearly ten climbing mates to the peaks over the years. Those experiences didn't break him—they sharpened him. They taught him exactly what it takes to stay mentally tough when the weather turns and the stakes are high.
As part of Men Mind Mountains, Banjo is here to share those stories. No scripts, no fluff—just real talk about how the wild has shaped his mind and body. Whether you’re on a park stroll or a mountain trek, he’s there to walk, talk, and show you that no matter how steep the climb, there’s always a way through.
